Basic information about modern rugs and runners.

Since the middle of the 20th century, rugs and runners have been actively gaining popularity. At the beginning of the 21st century, they lost their relevance and started to become a relic of the past. Now, these products are getting very popular and relevant again. Oriental carpets are real artwork, where sometimes you can’t take your eyes off. It is important to know what these products are and how to use them to decorate the interior.

Rugs and Runners types

Many homes use oriental style rugs and runners as décor. Classic rugs are made by hand and from natural materials. Additionally, rugs are created from silk, wool, and all sorts of other materials. All oriental carpets are distinguished by a special ornament, each of which is a characteristic of an oriental country or region.

Each rug is unique and original in its own way.

There are two types of products: for floors and for walls

The first type is often thick in texture due to being placed on the floor. It performs not only the role of décor but also has a functional element for the interior. The second option is usually thinner and smaller. These are all products, for decorating the interior.

Oriental carpets are produced:

  1. Handmade;
  2. Machine production;
    This is what larger manufacturers use. However, the rugs are often of the same great quality.
